Three Greatest Moments In Item Upgrades History
Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading the performance of them. They can provide extra damage, AD or even affixes.
In most cases, however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade equipment due to their requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They increase the performance of the item upgrader mod [cool training] they are connected to. Armor upgrades are found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items with upgrade components in them with a professional or higher salvage kit.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. The damage absorption of an item of armor will increase when it's upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. However, it's important keep in mind that this will increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than before.
There are a few different types of armor upgrades available in the game, and they all have distinct effects. Certain upgrades grant armor an extra number of health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade an item can be given, item Upgrader mod as illustrated below.
Some of the upgrades are also magic or a mix of technology and magic which is indicated by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Additionally, some upgrades require a fee to use, and are shown by the "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are either constantly updated or never expire based on the upgrade.
The cheapest method to upgrade armor is to use Iron Ore, which can be found by exploring the area and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available from smelters located in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can give significant improvements in performance and are worth the investment, especially for 1-handed weapons.
The player should be aware that upgrading a piece up to the maximum upgrade level will increase its defense values. However, it can also affect its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The defensive boost gained generally isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players to increase the effectiveness of certain aspects of an weapon. For instance, an upgrade may increase the damage dealt by the shells of a shotgun or the accuracy of the rifle sniper. Some weapons also have special upgrades that enhance their inherent characteristics. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).
The majority of upgrades to weapons require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade. These can be gained by completing Side Quests or killing a certain amount of bosses and monsters.
The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost that is based on a specific number of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade the more expensive the upgrade. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets changed a little. Previously, you could seek out an Upgrade Bench and pay for a specific amount of Bars to upgrade your weapon or equipment to a higher rarity. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level and at that point, the upgrades would reset.
You can still do this however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off visiting stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These items have a better chance of granting you the highest tier advantages and benefits.
The majority of players will prioritize weapon upgrades for the weapons they most often use to make sure they are able to level up faster. Players should also upgrade items the weapons their squadmates use to boost their strength. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to make it more useful when paired with biotech specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are utilized in the armor's sockets and weapons, increasing the stats of a weapon and providing additional effects. They can be made through a process called jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gemstone and several ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the tier of the gem is, the greater its secondary effect. These reagents are obtained in the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and sometimes by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The quality of a jewel can be improved upon by the Jeweler, in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. Based on the level of the gem, it will provide a different stat boosts when inserted into gear, weapons and jewelry.
The Jeweler can create the highest levels of gems apart from the rare and legendary ones, which you must attain an appropriate level to obtain. Jewels can be replaced with another jewel without damaging the original. However, you can only replace the jewels in a piece of equipment once.
It is typical to use more jewelry to enhance the appearance of. The jewels also improve performance and make a surface harder than steel so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to the movement.
A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the look of your shields and weapons. These glyphs offer a small boost and can be exchanged, however they are not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be removed, which returns them to the inventory. Other upgrade components, like traits and aegis, are not swappable, and can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are a great way to give your character various small, but beneficial, advantages. You can find them in the starting area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They can also be obtained from vendors as well as through completing road interaction. They can also be made by jewelers, and then found or purchased at the Trading Post.
The first trinkets a player can unlock is the cloak, which grants an unimportant but beneficial boost to speed of movement and evasion. The player can then collect rings, amulets and necklaces in a similar fashion similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any piece of equipment. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced, and can only be used with certain trinkets.
These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't in combat. This allows a hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It can also make up for the lack of a good slots in the team or talent tree which would normally be filled by the hero's Best item upgrader stats.
A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best item upgrader-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing soon, followed by any items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item being upgraded. This is especially true if you're looking to upgrade several statistics on an item. It's more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat rather than two suboptimal ones.
At the beginning of the game, players in the jungle are likely to upgrade their yellow trinket into a red one, while top and mid players usually choose either a pink or green ward (depending on the matchup). These choices will have an impact on the ability of a hero to control the map.
In addition to the items mentioned above, players will also find other trinkets that form of trophies and rewards throughout the game. They can be earned by completing certain milestones within the story, such as finishing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. You can see them by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
