World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade item (Suggested Resource site) could include a suffix or prefix that alters the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for examplethe "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item upgrade's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players make stronger versions of the equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know how much it will be improved after the reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 whenever you can.

You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the most effective way to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of a Glyph will boost all the nodes that are connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The system of upgrading items lets players increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components inside them. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields several Technology Points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When a player improves the equipment they have it is replaced by a new Best item upgrade. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a drawback since the item may be more expensive even if you do not require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, with an initial level and a different set of extra bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it can use up lots of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player continuously enters or leaves the water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the max roll by an increment of 10. This item is highly useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original state which means that the player has to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned like crit chance, attack damage, or other effects (such as an increase in healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items may require different upgrades than regular gear. For instance they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. However, players will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade requires a different amount of the ingredients for upgrading.
