It's thus susceptible to get stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when it's in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. 3. IRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the compact models this mop and robot vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot vacuum cleaner reviews that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. It's also a bit expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and best robot hoover better looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful, but it's more expensive and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

For bigger homes it's recommended to choose models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a particular area of your home via the app or via voice commands. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. For families that are busy recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off can be extremely useful.
