Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep floors clean enough to decrease the frequency with which you have to manually vacuum. Select a vacuum that is well-trained in navigation, is able to clean corners and stairs, and that has large bins that needs to be cleaned out every now and then.
There are models that clean and charge themselves which can be essential for those who have pets or children. The top performers in our tests have decent obstacle avoidance.
1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO, are identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. The i3+ is an excellent alternative for those who want a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot after it has filled up.
Both robots are adept at picking up surface dirt on floors and carpets and are able to navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart vacuum cleaner maps of your home to help the i3+ navigate and clean efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we tested. It could be stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like hardwood and rug.
iRobot suggests cleaning the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it may encounter. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filters clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for about an hour and top rated Robot Vacuum a half of continuous use, and it takes about three hours to recharge.
2. IRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot, and it is equipped with the most recent features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. -- the most important feature of all -- it has self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that allows it to create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot with voice or via the app.
In our tests the i7+ was more agile and faster than our second-placed model, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin that eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room and to vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected, we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is a sports car that is amidst a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households and can fit nicely on the coffee table or shelves where you can wave it around like a magic wand.
The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system traps allergens and releases cleaner air back into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets and pick up large crumbs or fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to match the task at hand. It is able to swiftly switch from handheld to floor vacuum, and vice versa.
The model also comes with docks that charge to 100% in around 3.5 hours, and gives users easy access to two attachments as well as a Wand clip. This is a huge improvement over the older Dysons models, that require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The main drawback of the V10 is its limited running time. As CR's tests show, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a typical not an extraordinary time for the battery-powered cordless vacuum. That's still enough run time to clean most of an average-sized house, but not quite long enough to clean every area (though the second time around usually does the trick). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeably superior on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums The 694 is an entry-level model that's a good choice for people who don't want to spend too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our tests, and it frequently goes over the same areas multiple times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home. It's not equipped with the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, such as our top picks, the i3+EVO and J7+ Series. This means that it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it frequently is power-depleted before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot floor cleaner is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower cost of recurring costs and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is better able to move its own. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries and can be controlled with your smartphone's voice assistance. It also feels better-built and has a stronger motor, and works better on floors that are bare and low-pile carpet, while providing a wider array of automation features.

The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior modification docking frequency settings and much more. It's easy to understand and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it removed 86% of dog hair (on carpet). However, it wasn't particularly well at avoiding taller objects like cords and socks which was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we tested which could be a deterrent for some shoppers.
The app allows you to access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot vacuum deals's cleaning area. This feature lets you check in on pets or kids when you're away from home. The filter and the dust bin can be cleaned for quick, easy cleanup. 6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots have been designed specifically for flooring made of hard wood. They have an extra wide cleaning path, and a dustbin that is 2X larger than the competition. This lets them clean the area for longer. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers that clean up around edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES model also comes with AutoSense which adjusts the power level based on whether it is cleaning up surface dirt or embedded dirt. It also includes a smart application that lets you view the virtual map, and control the functions and schedules. You can also monitor the status of the vacuum's battery and send it back to its dock to charge by pressing a button. The app also allows you to personalize the LED lights on top of the vacuum with different colors, so that you can easily tell which areas it's focused on or where it's got stuck.
The app allows you to steer the robot manually in the event of need. For example, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that can trip up some of the other robots I've tried. However, the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, without registering it as an incline. The ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
