Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Typically, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while items with strong bases like eth titans do not vary much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

upgrade item components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies or as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

In order to upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player must select it and then click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be used on any kind of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type limitation. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of the names of items. For instance adding the suffix Glyph would make a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and then replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant variations from previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item is able to be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level up however, the materials needed aren't as high. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items, instead of dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy and it will reset to zero on failure or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to be given affixes that boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's class. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a base that is normal will have no more than two affixes to choose from, whereas legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item is not able to get to its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials, though it will result in less chance of success.

To determine the height of a structure engineers use an instrument to compare the measurement against an established reference point, such as a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level, then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically increase the strength of an item, damage, or other characteristics. This can be done through the item menu or pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original Best item upgrade or another similar item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, some upgrade item items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than others. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for each stat. This can be good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the power of the item by a specific percentage or flat value. These bonuses are rolled over the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher your chance of getting the bonus of your choice.

The game also has a number set that grants an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an item. This is a good method of giving the character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the initial stages. This is because rerolling could give players a faster path to a powerful character, allowing them to reach higher levels and advance in the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized in different ways. They can be of different sizes, have no elements, or only have a single element. They are useful for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways such as size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading, others aren't. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not improve the stats of the item when in comparison to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade in the event that your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already extensive.

Set items can be upgraded to include unique procs that are useful for certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for upgrade items instance, is a huge range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the Best item upgrader as well as the items required to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed as well as any necessary items. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor have higher value when they are updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will also benefit from this because its defense will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
