Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment results in a linear increase in a given stat.

Players can recycle six items at a time to gauge the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items increases with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the effectiveness of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved by a variety of methods through the use of upgrade components or by increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. Many items can also be reforged to increase their stats.

Upgradable items can be found throughout the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. Upgrade components are the main way to upgrade equipment. These are the items that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others offer general bonuses.

There are a variety of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, are able to be placed in any equipment type and provide smaller bonuses than those that are type specific. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. Choose the item from your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The window will show an overview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, and any necessary components or materials. If you don't possess enough of either the upgrade button will say Blocked.

The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components needed for an item. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but can be reduced through a variety of ways, such as purchasing upgrades at a merchant or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded by a prefix upgrade like an insignia or a rune, and many can be upgraded using suffix upgrades. These upgrades change the name of the item to add an adjective, such as 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any mods at all.

Glyphs

Glyphs are an effective tool to communicate visual information. They move to grab the viewer's eye and spark curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language, making them more effective in communicating an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph increases a stat's value by a specific amount. This is displayed on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the highest value that a glyph could increase a stat's value by, not the amount that it actually increases the stat by. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and quality of the product you are in awe of.

The majority of upgrade components that are inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you have a glyph or rune you do not want to use, but it's not been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.

You can remove the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is located will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be recovered with the glyph shards.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph, the shards from the glyph will disappear. You can also add a glyph to your equipment to give it a bonus. For instance the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly instead of all at one time. This is beneficial for players who take lots of damage from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens permit players to alter the affixes they use on their equipment and weapons, and they can be obtained in various ways, including in mistery boxes, as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants the player a new random affix that is usually better than the original one. Reroll tokens can also be a good option to reroll stats on weapons and can be upgraded to increase damage or perks.

Rerolled items do not appear in the menu of upgrade options, however they can be upgraded. If you click the "upgrade button", you can recycle the recycled items. This will alter the appearance of the window for the item and let up to six items be chosen for recycling. Recycling an item adds small amount of points to its level gauge. This amount is determined based on the item's rarity as well as its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable for recycling than lower-leveled ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls are based on a % chance to determine a weapon's trait. Leveling
