WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the Item Level Upgrade level, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using an The button will show a preview of an item upgrades's next upgrade level if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item upgrade slot, and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

Upgraders for items are available at many locations including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader kit upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with numerous new features added. After a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is even if the items are from a different set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade items route costs 15 crests while the most complicated may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The use of these currencies isn't too difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
