Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Best item upgrader upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Rare-grade equipment can be superior to modernized Common or Magic equipment because of their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be used on weapons and armor items. They improve the stats of the item that they are connected to. Upgrades to armor are available in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Additionally, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components inside them, using a specialist or more powerful salvage kit.

The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it is able to take on. The damage absorption of an armor piece will increase when it's upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. However, it's important note that this will also raise its weight, requiring it to weigh more than it was before.

There are a few different kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game and each one has distinct effects. Certain upgrades give armor an additional number of health points, while others make it lighter and more powerful. The type of armor upgrade that an Best item upgrade can get will be identified by the name of the upgrade as indicated in the table below.

Certain upgrades require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, as indicated by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Some upgrades also require charges in order to be used. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are either constantly updated or never expire depending on the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest way to upgrade your armor. You can find it by exploring and looting small chests. Titanium is more expensive but it can be obtained from smelters located in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to armor pieces that are of high-level. These upgrades can give players a significant increases in stats and are worth the cost.

The player should be aware that upgrading a piece to its max upgrade level will increase its defense value. However, it will also affect its agility and its speed. For this reason, it is generally not recommended to upgrade the majority of armor pieces beyond +9, since the added defense is generally not worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. For instance an upgrade could enhance the damage caused by a shotgun's shells or the accuracy of a sniper rifle. Some weapons have special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic characteristics. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and minimizes overheating of the weapon) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).

The majority of upgrades to weapons require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade. These can be obtained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.

Upgrades to a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade price that is based on a specific number of Bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade the more expensive the upgrade. The cost of upgrades will be lower if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the method of upgrading your weapon and equipment sets was a bit different. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could do this until you reached a maximum upgrade level for your equipment or weapon, following which the upgrades would be reset.

This is still possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. You're better off buying gear that has low levels of upgrade but with high base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a greater chance of giving you the highest level of blessings and perks.

To improve their skills faster, many players prioritise upgrading their weapons. In addition to these players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons favored by their squadmates to increase their power as well. Shepard for instance should upgrade his M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will increase the effectiveness of the weapon when used in conjunction with biotic specialists such as Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels can be used to boost the stats of a character or to provide additional effects in weapons and armor. Jewelry crafting is a method for making them, in which you combine the gemstone with specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the level of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses around the world, or by finding Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The quality of a diamond can be improved upon by the Jeweler in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. Depending on the tier of the gem it can provide different stat boost when slotted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

The Jeweler is able to create all kinds of gems, apart from the rare and legendary ones which require a certain level to get. Like other upgrade components jewels can be swapped out with a identical jewel without destroying it. However it is only possible to replace a jewel in a piece of equipment once.

It is normal to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. In addition to improving performance, the jewels also create a surface that is harder than metal, which means that repeated friction with pivots doesn't damage them as easily.

In addition to the above upgrades players can also obtain glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These are a small perk and can be swapped out at any time, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as aegis or traits cannot be swapped, and can only be found through an upgrade extractor, or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are a great way to provide your hero with various small, but beneficial advantages. They can be obtained in the starter areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and by doing road interactions. They can also be crafted by jewelers and later found or purchased on the Trading Post.

The first trinket a player will unlock is the cloak. It provides a tiny, but useful bonus in speed of movement and the ability to escape. After that, they can acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in the same manner to the way a player obtains armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment has a slot for an upgrade that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer fewer benefits and can be placed in any kind of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and is only compatible with specific types of trinkets.

These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This allows a hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It can also compensate for the absence of strong slots in the team or talent tree which would normally be filled by the hero's Best item upgrade stats.

As a rule, trinket upgrades should prioritize BiS (Best item upgrader in Slot) items you won't replace soon. Next, any items that have desirable statistics aren't as significant as the iLevel of the item upgrade that is to be upgraded. This is particularly true if an item has multiple stats that you wish to upgrade, as it's often better to upgrade a single important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.

Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red trinket at the beginning of the game. Top and mid players, on the other hand they will select either a pink or green ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's map control abilities.

In addition to the items mentioned above, players will find other trinkets that form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story, like finishing a chapter's main quest or killing a particular boss. These achievements can be seen by selecting the appropriate achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
