The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin, which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions, move itself around the room, and even vacuum the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After connecting to these services, we were able give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is a sports car that is amidst a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. The main drawback of the V10 is its limited run time. The claims of its marketing that it can provide up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading, as CR's testing shows. This is a typical and not a remarkable run time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. It's still enough time to vacuum the majority of a typical-sized home however, it's not enough to clean every spot (though the second time around usually can be effective). However, this model isn't a good choice: It's lighter and agile than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is significantly superior on carpets with a low pile.

The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in an expensive robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of debris types and sizes during our tests, and often goes over the same areas several times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it to reach into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice feature.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models like our top choices, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. This means that it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't in good condition, and frequently will run out of battery before making it back to its home base.
