World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item level upgrade to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like perfect made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats such as damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. A lot of weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a group. This bonus can sometimes exceed the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.

The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and current level. For instance the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use an upgrade items to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While this is generally an excellent thing but it can also have negative consequences too. For items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance), upgrading them may render them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.

Upgrades can be made to armor items to increase their performance. In the case of a helm or chest, it will boost its defense base while gloves and belts will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may reroll to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain after upgrading, as well as the relative values of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% does not mean that it will strike for 3 fewer times as it is an absolute statistic.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button in the item menu using the circling arrows. This will reroll an item and alter its stats, but not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.

Armor

Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a huge differences in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets provide massive boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the greater health you will get from each point. So, it's Best item upgrade to upgrade your armor.

To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game, and to unlock each one you have to complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest and the associated fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in frigid conditions with a large number of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense, which means you're able to survive a battle with friends.

Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power when you're Mage. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use for the final boss battle, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also gain benefits to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally speaking, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have some upgrades to your helmets and chest armor that allow you to stealth around certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, give a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each having specific effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to enhance their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.

Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a craft table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion used and the item's Rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to choose the potion that you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll offer when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP level.

When a poton is upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again or break the bottle in the container it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.

There were a few updates to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. Splash potions for instance are now available with a time of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item. The table for potion is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be used in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion within an empty cauldron. This will drain the liquid, and then refill the bottle.

There are also simmering potions that are made using dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including potion of leaping, potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It may also refer to an object or decoration that serves a function but isn't particularly significant like a tiny thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons or armor, as well as potions. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded can be swapped at will without losing stats.

The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

The upgrade of a trinket can be an affordable alternative to buying new ones. It is possible to upgrade players for just 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same level of base as the previous trinket but will also have an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded when they're no longer useful and allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

In general players should make upgrades to their highest priority items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other gear items that will not be replaced in the near future (for instance an earring or cloak). When choosing which items to upgrade, players should also take into account their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm and shoulders.

After they've become unusable trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade can cause the trinket to be destroyed until it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing new ones.
