World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will be able to gain 3percent of its previous attack damage every time it is upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the item to which it is applied (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of an armored weapon or. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of an item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure what will be improved following a reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a significant possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break when it fails; a failure to upgrade can ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes within a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible to level 15.

You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and give significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs and there are some rare glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is best to put Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The item upgrading system lets players increase the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components inside them. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires a different number of components to reach, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets leveled up.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When an item is upgraded by a player it is replaced with a new item upgrades of the same kind. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a drawback because it can cause the item to become more expensive if you don't require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, with a level 1 base and a different set of extra bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it can use up lots of resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. The item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very valuable in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of a unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to go to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item upgrade is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade item an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items may require different upgrades than standard gear. For example they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients for upgrading.
