Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting its base stats or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Usually items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas objects with strong bases, such as Eth titans don't change much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to choose it and click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade stats will be and also the material or component needed for the upgrade to take place.

There are three types of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be put in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding a Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces glyphs with another glyph the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that are able to be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in several important ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a certain number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level however the materials required don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple items.

If an item is finished being leveled and is leveled out, it will be able to receive an upgrade set of components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it is reset to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

After a piece has been upgraded to its maximum level, it is able to get the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For example, a rare or unique weapon with a normal base will have only two affixes for it, whereas legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade step will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests based on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item is not able to get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option of transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with another set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials but will result in lower chances of success.

To measure the height of a structure engineers use an instrument to compare the measurement against an established reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This method is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to an extremely high degree of precision and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically enhance an item's strength and damage as well as other attributes. You can do this via the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item upgrader mod. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be done sparingly.

The game lets players recycle upgraded items, and use them to acquire reroll tokens. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or another item upgrader mod of the same type. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item upgrader kit determines the amount of level that has been filled.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more often than other items. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This can be good or bad, depending on what you're looking to get from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could have a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are rolled over the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with various sets which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is a great method to add a lot of power to a character without spending lots of money.

Many players opt to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. Rerolling can give players a faster route to becoming a strong character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be arranged in a variety of ways. They can be different sizes, have no elements, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

There are a range of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that provide high defense values and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have a lot of weapons or armor pieces already.

Certain set items are upgraded to meet their unique procs which can be useful in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to par with the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their screen for their character. It will show the item's attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, weapons and jewelry offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their performance. This will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated look.
