Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers can be a great option for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their list of tasks. The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list, which makes it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in robot vacuums. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.
It is very quick and does a great job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one pass. Its suction motor of 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as impressive. The rotating mop spins at a high rate and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to get into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, such as books and toys that have been damaged.
Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuum cleaner reviews vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't create the same volume of sound while vacuuming or mopping and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to install and works well, but this is something you'll have to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mop [Suggested Resource site] vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.
The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house, find furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and intelligently. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean and is also fast.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach a wide range of surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach places. They also have a flexible side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. In addition, the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the odors.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction level and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.
It's expensive, but has many smart features. It is important to remember, however, that the device incurs recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad must be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum mop cleaner robot mop has an excellent Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. The vacuum also has a power button which doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a 'Home button to send it back home after cleaning. The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home tidy without spending too much time on chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two modules that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that includes a microfiber pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated, but they do mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.
Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair of pets. It was able to capture a lot of the hair shed by our cats, and even made it into the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some pleasant jingles to let you know that it was in the process of getting its work done.
Its main drawbacks were its simple app and the necessity to change between the modules to switch between mopping and vacuuming. The app cannot save multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want an intelligent robot that is capable of mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it also has distinct features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its massive dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base and housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.
The base has a few control buttons, which allow you to manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off a child lock that is a great touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognising objects.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck if it is entangled in a hazard, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't function until you manually untangle it. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert in its application.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You will need to manually swap between the two, which isn't too bad except for the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between use, which can lead to mildew or mold.
On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad. It's a big difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxy models.
