WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item upgrades that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new gear. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item upgrader kit from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They are purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with a The button will show the preview of an Item level upgrade's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item upgrader mod slot and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item upgrader mod is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via a variety of means, which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This applies regardless of whether the items are from an entirely different set of equipment.

The discount is available to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW, players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used on equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one use and it's crucial to use them wisely. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are full of high-quality gear.
