Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade item increases the level of an item Level Upgrade by 3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.

Upgrades are functional items that are used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and accessories. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using an button, which will show an image of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose.
