World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for instancethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

The player is able to have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it's possible that the item will become obsolete or even break if the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Certain upgrades also provide the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within the area around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded many ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.

You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values can enhance a stat by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the many Glyphs, and there are some rare Glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in key places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance, a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, but you should also consider placing them near critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires a different number of components to reach and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is leveled up.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned you will be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player improves the equipment they have the original item upgrader will be replaced with the new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This can be a downside, as the item can be more expensive even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a completely different set of bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it could waste lots of resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like a dolphin). This item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to Upgrade Items (Articlescad.Com) allows players to boost the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to go to its original state, which will force the user to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained like chances to be crit damage to attack, other effects (such as increased heal over time, or reloading speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items may require different upgrades than regular gear. For example, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires the use of different ingredients for upgrading.
