The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its price is affordable and its high-end features (such as a dirt detectors) are positives.

Make sure you regularly inspect your robot's brushes for tangled hair and large particles and wash them if required. Some models will automatically empty their dust bin on board into a larger one at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They have motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they employ smart mapping to produce precise floorplans that avoid obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also come with a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept in cleaning robot mop and vacuum hair from dogs. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a great deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save money. Additionally, it's quiet and can work when you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a self-emptying bin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop robot hoover for carpets, though it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can change its cleaning schedule and set up zones with the well-designed app. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to remove and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm is also great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire home, and it did so with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a great cleaning job on various floors and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was superb, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the compact models This good robot vacuum auto vacuum and mop and mop combo is one of the most attractive designs in our reviews. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device which could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and look better. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however it will cost you more and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features to help you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes charge of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however, it wasn't foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the amount of dirt they tend to be.

For larger houses it's recommended to choose models with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a particular area of your home via the app or via voice commands. A stairway mode is useful if you own a large furniture. For busy families, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off can be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you might imagine from its price. It is a great job vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using only one pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, set up the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritise your dirtiest rooms to improve performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture better. It features a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
