The 9 Things Your Parents Teach You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item upgrader kit, or its Mark Level and increase other stats.
Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.
Item Level
When an item gets upgraded, its stats increase in value. This is the sum of all of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive, depending on the upgrader you choose and the kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the sheer number of perks that need to be altered to upgrade an item.
The level of an item is a commonly used measurement of power and can be seen on all tooltips for items. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to an lower level). The average item level can be found on the character sheet.
When deciding to purchase or sell equipment players can evaluate the level of an item. It's a useful indicator of the quality of an item and the amount of damage it is able to deal. Comparing items from a vendor's stock is possible using the item level.
The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are many theories about how the item level upgrade level is determined. One theory states that the level of an item is calculated using a formula that calculates how valuable an item's stats really are. It takes into consideration the fact that various perks have different value and that gems in sockets add to the item's overall value. This process could result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.
However, this is not the only factor that can affect an item's ilvl because the level of the region the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The item's stats can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the best." The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat mods which are then boosted by the player's level.
The upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item level upgrade. For instance, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while an item with rare tiers can be upgraded many times at higher prices.
Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Affixes are used to provide items with extra damage, special abilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to differentiate them by naming them.
Presently, all affixes are able to be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circles arrows. This will cost a specific amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges just like the other methods of rerolling.
In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However, all items will contain at least one stat within the range, unless they are an exclusive item, or an item that has a God Roll from a raid boss.
This is another aspect that could be altered by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to boost. Like the base equipment, it will have to be done per item and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player can increase the chance of finding items as well as the properties generated by loot, and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves and is thus more beneficial in the early game than later ones because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade chances, which increase with each new level of item. These can also be enhanced by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields, and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.
Additionally there are certain items, such as the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shops or made using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chances of success for an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item if it does not work.
The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of completing the upgrade successfully and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to the extent to which the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..
The success of an item can be affected by the luck of the item. All items have an average success rate of 25% and every item that has Luck increases that chance by an additional 5%.
The upgrade overlays of the item level upgrade are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader (Going to Saveyoursite) CORE client config.
