World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item upgrader's level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them; the item must be at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or item Upgrader completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of an armored weapon or. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

The player can get the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much they'll improve after a future reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a substantial possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the risk of failure. Certain upgrades also provide the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded a variety of ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.

You will often find in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs as well as some rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For example an Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The system of upgrading items allows players to improve the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components inside them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item. Once enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrades an item, the base item upgrades is replaced by a new item upgrader of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could increase in price even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be done regularly, as it could waste a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. The item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is highly important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of a non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal and also increase their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an item, it has an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will result in the item upgrades returning to its original condition, which requires the player to spend additional resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. However, players must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the cost listed above.
