Both robots do well picking up surface debris off carpets and hard floors and they are very good in getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home that assist the i3+ to navigate and clean efficiently. However unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we evaluated the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features which means it can get stuck on things such as socks or power cords and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces like hardwood to carpet.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include putting away any clutter or toys it might encounter. In our tests the i7+ performed quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is the self vacuum-emptying bin which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room, and even vacuum the area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households and can fit nicely on the table for a coffee or a bookshelf where you can move it around like a magic device.

The V10 is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that produces power without fading for 60 minutes. Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home. It's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, such as our top robot vacuum picks, the i3+EVO and j7+ Series. This means that it may get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and often is power-depleted before making it back to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower cost of recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is able to better move itself.
