WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that are used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which displays an image of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current Item Upgrader Kit level. For example, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available in many places, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrading upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a specific level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will be less expensive, even when they are part of an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available when certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. They can choose to use Flightstones, which are a general upgrade currency available to everyone players, or crests that are more specialized and used to upgrade specific levels of items. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or item Upgrader kit dungeons that have a high difficulty for gear in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once an Best item upgrade is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrader equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to create. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which will only be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
