World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

The upgrade feature for items allows players to increase the item level for weapons that can be equipped or armor. This increases the stats of that gear, as well as sometimes adding buffs or rolling an affix again.

It is important to keep in mind that upgrading common gear isn't always worth it. Rare and exclusive equipment will quickly surpass the standard gear and upgraded magic.

Cost

The player must pay gold to upgrade an item. The cost to upgrade an item varies based on the item's current level and type of upgrade. Upgrades to weapons are typically cheaper than upgrades to armor since weapons have less requirements. The amount of Gold required increases as the item is upgraded to the next level.

Upgraded items also come with upgraded stats that will improve its performance in a variety of ways. This could mean increasing its attack power critical strike chance, or damage per second. In addition an upgraded item might be able to give additional bonuses to its equipped unit. These upgrades can be used for a number of reasons, including to boost the overall power of a group or individual unit. They can also affect the overall the gameplay.

This process is largely identical to the process of reforging gear in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, but instead of using the appropriate currency players need to visit an item upgrader NPC to complete the process.

Upgrades can be costly, especially for weapons and armor. Depending on the upgrade track each step up in level of the item could cost several Valorstones and crests. The total cost could be a major burden for players who do not have the funds or are unable to grind them.

The game lets you play a reroll of an upgraded item with a special tool in the menu of items. This option will replace the upgraded item with a level 1 version that has different bonus effects. This is useful to improve the roll of items that have already been upgraded. However, it can be a waste of time.

Requirements

The process of upgrading items that are equippable like weapons, armor and trinkets is to increase the item level. This improves their effectiveness and makes them more effective in battle. Players can upgrade gear by paying the appropriate currency at an item upgrader NPC. However, players should be aware that some upgrades require special requirements.

The earliest upgrades only increase the stats of the base item by one level, however later upgrades provide more significant increases. For example, upgrading a weapon from three to level six can increase the weapon's damage by plus two levels. A bonus stat will also be added to the upgraded item based on the level. This bonus is a combination of a guarantee extra substat as well as a random stat that can change in value from upgrade to upgrade.

A player can Reroll an upgraded item using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a brand new one. The new item will feature a different set of extra bonuses as well as an lower base level. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for dexterity and strength. It is important to remember that the item rerolled won't be able to keep its original strength or have any of its wasted resources.

Some upgraded items are only able to be rerolled if the initial item was a Unique Epic, Rare or Rare. Additionally, exceptional items can be rerolled but the original stats are replaced with an uncapped bonus. Rerolling a Rare item will result in a Normal version of the same type, whereas rerolling an Epic item will result in an Elite version of the same kind.

Upgraded items can come with additional modifiers that can improve their performance and boost their stats. These additional modifiers are not included in the upgrade price. You can buy them at the Trading Post, or through other players. Additionally, they can be earned through completing certain missions in the game.

You will also require various quantities of Minerals and Erons.

Time is an important factor.

Upgrades to items can be used to increase the stats of your equipment and ship without the need to upgrade them. While it's not expensive, it is an effective way to boost your stats without having to spend a lot of time in battle. It is important to understand the cost and benefits prior to investing your time or money.

Take advantage of the benefits

Upgrades to items reward players with a range of items and currencies. Additionally, every upgrade can give a random stat bonus. The amount of bonus awarded differs for each upgrade, and is generally higher for items that are rarer. This process consumes Growthstones and Sollant, but there is a ten percent chance to achieve a fully upgraded item with only one cycle of growth. The more levels an item receives the higher its stat boost and the more items it can upgrade to.

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to give an attribute bonus or a special effect, while the equipment is being worn. Some upgrade components have additional cosmetic effects. Upgrade components are available through crafting, purchasing from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving as a gift. This will alter the layout of the game and allow players to choose up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item will be replaced with one of the level 1 items. Rerolled items won't retain their level or the amount of resources needed to upgrade them.

The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by the item's tier as well as its quality. Common items can be upgraded up to the maximum level of six, while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels nine. The item upgrades are added to the base statistics of the item. This means that they will not increase further after a certain level.
