WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item upgrade level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. The item level upgrade (mouse click the up coming article) used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current item level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show a preview of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item upgrading has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Item upgraders can be found in many places including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades must be acquired through several methods that are both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less, even if they are part of a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is account-wide. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, item level Upgrade in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their gear up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's Best item upgrader to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
