1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they employ smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also have Carpet Boost, a feature that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept at cleaning dog hair. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in seconds.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could sweep the entire house with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a good job cleaning a variety of rooms and Best Robot Hoover floors with different flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically empties into its base, and also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The RX3 is more advanced than the price suggests. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). And it's highly self-sufficient with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process which collects information about your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It also has an app that is less intuitive, and a smaller base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
