The Best robot vacuum cleaner best automatic hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and it will leave your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end features (such as a dirt detectors) are positives.

Be sure to regularly check your robot's brushes for hair that is tangled as well as large debris and wash them if required. Certain models also automatically empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in an additional bin at the bottom. This reduces the amount fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have tested. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the most powerful model) they employ smart mapping to produce precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like cords and furniture leg. The robots also come with Carpet Boost, a feature which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top option. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.

It's still a good deal for those whose office or home has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. It's also quiet and works when you're at work or school. The only thing it doesn't have that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robot hoover for carpets, but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors that help it keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and offer better cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire home, and it did so with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a decent cleaning job on various rooms and floors with various kinds of flooring, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, and Robot Hoover bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming this feature, which we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba unit than the boxy models of the competition. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It has advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop to score an exemplary 10/10 in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including a camera, robot hoover structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in the mornings before work, or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it will cost you more and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that let you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot uses a combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home depending on the amount of dirt they tend to be.

If you own a larger home, it is worth selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. A stairway mode is useful if you have a number of furniture. For busy families recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a rotating motion that is more efficient than most of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that is washable.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to create a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and under furniture more easily. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also create a spot-clean that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is a bit more noisy than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
