The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most advanced robot to date is the Roomba j7+. Its most notable innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. It uses AI to identify objects like charging cords and shoes. It's also the first to automatically send you a photo of the object it comes across so that you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we've ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills effortlessly and leaves no trace of it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app, which allows you to schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't sweep areas you don't want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off using your voice.
The design is also superior to the other models. It features a sleek, top piece that looks like a toy rather than the loud and annoying robot. Clean Base automatic floor cleaner Dirt disposal System also self-empties, which can cut down on cleaning time.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ quickly removed dust, dirt, and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brush roll kept the debris in one place rather than sending it scattering all over the floor. It was able to collect sand, small gravel and even a little grit. The majority of robots cannot do this. It did all this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
While it's not quite as efficient as the $1,217 Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum and can't clean stairs The j7+ is still an excellent option for those who need mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however we've found it be less reliable than other applications that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates and it can be difficult to know whether they're working until you see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, the best option is probably a hybrid. These bots are equipped with a tank of water so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also have a number of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The negative is that they tend to be pricey at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.
Roborock is one of our top robot vacuum price vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and while it's not equipped with certain features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles like table legs and walls, which makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It is also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a area where most robot vacuums of lower quality fall short. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is superb and has very few missed corners and along walls.
The Q5+, just like other Roborock products, can be controlled by just a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. The app allows you to start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas, alter your home map, or re-label the rooms.
If you decide to go with the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock designed specifically to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once in place the process of emptying the bin is simple. It has a large LCD screen which is helpful when setting up schedules and altering settings. This isn't an essential feature for the majority of people but it will aid in keeping track of your robot's maintenance intervals easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly intelligent in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is one of the most innovative in the market however it's quite expensive.
It's a tiny base station that looks stunning and can be hidden when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is that it can automate many tasks, functions and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and also electrolyze and warm the water. The majority of other robots require this.
Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robovac that I've tried that does a good robot vacuum job picking up dirt from floors that aren't. It's also not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
But the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robovacs. This means that it could get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms in the house. It's also not able to climb stairs like other models and isn't equipped with a dock to create a cleaning area for carpets that are soft.
While it doesn't offer the same amount of cleaning-related options in its app or as many shortcuts in the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comprehensive mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price tag.
If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are alternatives available. Many eufy models cost significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance, is cheaper and offers an identical experience on the app with more features, including stairs, a fully-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors and low and high-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac g30
eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of producing robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning on hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at an affordable price point. It's easy to set up, just connect one of the side brush and then turn it on. Then connect the charging dock. The app walks you through several steps to connect it to Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. It is recommended to keep the dock near an electrical outlet and enough space to allow it to move, however.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact It can be tucked away under couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design isn't as ostentatious when compared to rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern over two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.
The way in which the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from other models. It uses a built-in map to create an image of non-movable objects that are in its path while retaining what it's cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge and continues cleaning where it left off.
The elegant G30 has a few flaws. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better built, incurs lower recurring costs, charges faster and has a similar battery life. It also offers better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It has a larger dust bin, which does not require as much emptying. It also comes with border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't have to be empty as often, and it has less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
