Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the most effective ways to upgrade your gear without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your gear effectively.

Upgrades to equipment grant an additional bonus to the item's stats. This bonus is based on the upgrade component level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the things that can make your weapons and armor better. You can locate them by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors, or finding them in items-spheres. You can also get them from equipment containing the components or by using salvage kits of high-end quality, such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components are not destroyed by removing them from the item.

Upgrade components are mostly used to improve an item upgrader kit however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be used to increase the level of experience gained from upgrading existing weapons or gear. They can also be forged to offer additional benefits. A glyph that is crafted can boost the upgrade chances of its target, while boost upgrades increase the attack or defense capabilities of the weapon.

You can connect an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display the upgrade components to which the item can be upgraded. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been collected.

Each component has a distinct experience multiplier that affects how much more experience an item receives when it is upgraded by that component. For instance, organic components offer a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade using organic components until you have reached the multiplier of experience for the next level of the weapon or gear, and then change to mechanical upgrades.

Each item has a maximum upgrade number that can be received. The number of upgrades is determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. The highest upgrade possible is a weapon with the tier 10. The most commonly used upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and an armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a group of items that have bonuses. Each item can be upgraded at least once. The upgrade boosts the guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade the set piece or weapon, it will receive an increase of +1 to its primary stat. In subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be boosted a bit further (for instance, +1 to 12+/13+/14+) Each time you upgrade the item with an additional stats is increased randomly.

Upgrades can also increase the damage base of a weapon. This could be crucial for certain builds. Weapons aren't upgraded to give a higher maximum defence roll than their base. Upgrading can be a good option to increase the value of certain sets and unique items, but it's important to note that they might not be superior to a high-level runeword in any build.

If an item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus, it can be rerolled a few times and the guarantee will be reset to 0. The same power dies are used to reroll an item, just as it is used to increase its level. However the new item comes with different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will require the required amount of Minerals and Erons, as well as a power dice of each kind. These are available at the crafting table or the Ultra Collector and can be purchased using Gold. The NPC will also give an extra reward for each tier of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a single time using the same materials as original item.

Rerolling

If the player has enough to reroll tokens, they are able to play rerolling any item they've acquired during the game. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced by the same level in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased from the store for a small amount of in-game currency, however they cannot be refunded. The upgraded item will still come with the extra bonuses of the original one, but its stats will be different as well.

In addition to rerolling items, players can also alter the identification of any equipment by interfacing with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification as a weapon to armor or reverse it. The base requirements and stats will remain the same. The change will last for a long time and affect all characters who own the equipment.

Players can also boost the level of their item on any equipped device by obtaining upgrade components and communicating with the upgrader NPC of the item. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, item type and number of crests. Each step will give an additional 5% of damage to weapons.

An upgrade can make it more powerful however, it can also decrease its quality. Therefore, it is crucial to strike a balance between the two. Certain items aren't worth upgrading, whereas others require upgrading to reach their full potential. A player may want to upgrade breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% block chance or FHR) to discover what it could be.

The main reason people reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they are trying to acquire a certain weapon or character that they can't otherwise obtain. These items are time-consuming and costly to acquire and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only other options are to spend money or grind for a long time. Rerolling is a popular feature in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

When upgrading an item you can choose to upgrade the weapon or armor. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe it was intended to to increase the value of rare items, but since the majority of gear drops quickly and can only be upgraded after a certain amount of levels, you'll usually replace the item upgrader before it becomes old enough. It's not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets because the power of the gem will far outweigh the increased ilvl that comes with the upgrade.

If you click the upgrade option on an item, you will see a small window with the Best item upgrade's upgrade template and the cost of crest and Valorstone to increase the item level. The cost of upgrades will vary based on the armor and weapons as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade item template shows the stats that will be added to the upgraded item and it also lists the current base ilvl.

The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the item's current ilvl as well as the upgrade template. Additionally the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be reduced by the upgrade template's lvl decrease percentage. For example the weapon that has an increase of 8% will reduce its value by 8-8 percent.

The item will be upgraded to other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damages and block, parry, and dodge rating in addition to the base ilvl. These upgrades are also based on the upgrade template.

The amount of defense and damage the item is able to receive when it is leveled can be seen below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All weapons and armor apart from practice equipment gain these stats upon leveling up. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a rolled perfect version of a weapon or piece of armor able to command much more in trade value than unupp'd versions. This is also true for other armor pieces like circlets and tiaras.
