Both robots are adept at picking up surface dirt on floors and carpets and can move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ does not have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have test. It could get stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clean up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filter clear to avoid becoming clogged. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and automatically takes the dirt out of the docking station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it started. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes three hours to charge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. But the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot using voice or through the app.
The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also impressed with the i7+’s compatibility with amazon robot vacuum Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. When connected to these services, we were able communicate with the i7+ using voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world filled with cordless vacs that look like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model feels like an automobile. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then releases fresh air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to suck up large particles and fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to suit the task being performed. It quickly converts from handheld to floor vacuum robot, and then back to best automatic floor cleaner.
This model comes with a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100% within 3.5 hours. It also provides an easy access to two attachments and a Wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons models, which take a long time to charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's main drawback is its short running time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is an average not an extraordinary time to run an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. This is enough time to clean the average-sized home however, it's not enough time to reach every spot. (A second run is usually sufficient). This doesn't mean that this model isn't a good choice It's lighter and more agile than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming efficiency is superior on carpets with a low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums The 694 is a basic model that's a great choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robotic. It was able to remove all kinds of debris in our tests and would often go over the same area several times to ensure a thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows it reach into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice addition.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It may get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and is often unable to supply power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has less parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower recurring cost and has more advanced automation capabilities and is better able to move its own. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.
The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most reasons, since it has a longer battery life, has the ability to alter its suction power mode manually and has physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It also feels more sturdy, has a more powerful motor, and works better on bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as offering a wider range of automation options.

They also have two side sweepers to clean along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also comes with AutoSense technology, which senses the presence of dirt on surfaces or embedded dirt and then automatically adjusts the power level. The vacuum also has an app that allows you to view a virtual map, control functions, and schedules. Plus, you can monitor the vacuum's battery status and send it back to its dock to charge by pressing the button. The app allows you to personalize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum with different colors, so that you can clearly see what areas it's focusing on or where it's got stuck.
The app also makes it simple to manually steer the Robot broom should you need to. My living room rug for instance, has a darkly-colored border that can trip up some other robots.
