World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item upgrader to 700, and then add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't change much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth it.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a group. In some cases this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon is able to upgrade on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also change the stats of their base. This is usually a positive factor, but it could also have negative consequences. For items that are only used in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance) upgrading them can render them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll.

The ability to upgrade armor items to improve their effectiveness. For instance, if you have chests or helms, it will boost its defense base while gloves and belts improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it can sometimes change its roll to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain when upgrading, along with the values of these stats. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining 3% of attack damage. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike 3 times less often as it is an absolute statistic.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu using the arrows that are circling. This will roll the item and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference to your survivability. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to poison, curses and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to traverse difficult areas. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has, the more value you will get out of each point of health you have and it's crucial to upgrade your armor as often as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them each of which requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and completed the fountain that corresponds you'll be able to speak to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you'll be looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, as an example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in frigid environments with a lot of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense, which means you can survive a raid with your friends.

You can't upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also gain advantages to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades for the armor on your chest and helmets to allow you to get around a few monsters.

Potions

Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, provide the user with the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.

Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by making them on a crafting table or in the chest of the Alchemist. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion and the item upgrader kit's rarity as well as Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that lets you select the potions that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll offer when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP level.

Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade in the event that you use it again or break the bottle in the container it is kept. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

There were some changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. Splash potions for instance are now available with a time of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the item hover display. The table of potion now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It is now able to be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. The same applies to using a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will drain the potion, and refill the bottle.

Finally, there are simmering potions made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can be added to lingering potions to enhance their effects. The potion table has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket can be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose, but is not particularly important like a tiny thimble. In some cultures a trinket is used to express affection or friendship between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons, armor, and potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets unlike other items which can be upgraded can be swapped at will without losing statistics.

The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of trinkets that are rare.

Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base level as the old trinket but will also have an additional 1% bonus upgrade.

Once the old Trinkets are no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value with time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, then their secondaries and then other gear items that they won't replace soon (for example rings or cloaks). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when choosing which items to upgrade. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should prioritize upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and chest.

When they are no longer useful trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional bonus of 1. Re-upgrading can cause damage to the trinket unless it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than purchasing a new one.
