It's the only robot vacuum/mop to score 100% in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only best robot vacuum that mops in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.
Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. It also has an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house based on how dirty these areas tend to be.
If you have a bigger home, you should consider selecting a robot that comes with the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice command. If you have furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. Finally the recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It is a good vacuum cleaner, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most mop cleaners for robots that we've tried. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to set up a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency.
