The 10 Most Scariest Things About Item Upgrading
Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with bases that are strong, such as the Titans of eth have little changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot, dropped by enemies or as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.
In order to upgrade an item of armor, the user must choose it and click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats and the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three types of universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same benefits as jewels, however they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding the word Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, except for inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they are "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials needed do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.
Once an item has been leveled out, it will be able to receive a new set of upgrade components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade item succeeds.
Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level it is able to receive affixes that will boost its attributes. The number of affixes available depends on the item's base type. For example, a rare or unique weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes to choose from and legendary armors will have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade process will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is placed in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item does not reach its max level The NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials but will result in a lower chance of success.
Engineers use a level in order to compare the height of the building to a known point, like the benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod, then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling

Recyclable items come with an indicator that indicates the amount of upgrade. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level that has been filled.
In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats to your build more frequently than other items. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for all stats. This can be a good or a negative thing depending on your needs and requirements from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can also be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the item's power by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to the regular affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better chances of obtaining a unique bonus.
The game also features a number of sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is a good method to give the character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling can help you create a more powerful character faster, which allows you to advance in the game and achieve higher levels.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can have different dimensions, contain no elements at all or contain just one element. They are useful for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Sets of armor that offer the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not improve the quality of the item's stats when as compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.

Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

The item will be displayed with its features, as well as the required items to upgrade it. For instance the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements of specific items.
In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial increase in their power. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this, since its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
