However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our first choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you're required to, the mopping pad can be changed for one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot cleaner hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however, it wasn't 100% foolproof during our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home according to the degree of dirt they are.

For bigger homes it's recommended to choose models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your house by using the app or via voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. Also the recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.

It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to organize an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas for better performance.
