Upgrades can increase the performance of a piece and at times even add additional features. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the amount of random augmentations that are applied.

For instance, the premium shield of racial violence Razortail is often upgraded to enhance its lightning absorb ability in PvP or to add additional defenses on missile based designs in PvM. This makes it more marketable over the original version that is not upgraded.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to reroll an acquired item like an armor, weapon, or rings. The item is swapped for another similar one with an additional set of bonuses. Reroll tokens can be a cost-effective way to upgrade item gear. However, they do not retain the same level as the original item, and any wasted resources won't be compensated for.

The survivors can acquire reroll tokens via a variety of methods, including from the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can be located in crates and chests or bought from the store for 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to change an attribute on a piece of equipment that could include increasing its damage or granting it a new stat.

Some items benefit from being upgraded less because of their improved stats, but more for the fact that it allows players to get the maximum amount of value from a flawless roll on the item. For instance, a perfectly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community and could be worth 20-50 times the value of the unupp'd version.

The game will display the requirements when you select the upgrade component that goes into the item. The game will show the required requirements when you select an upgrade component to slot into an item.
